Full Moon 04:50
Small and pedestrian I’ll get up and try again. Morning came early today. Still can’t think of anything to say. New pocketknife with nothing to write. I can’t ignore the blinding light. It’s a full moon tonight. It’s gonna be alright 'cause it’s a full moon tonight. Blankets consume me I’ll let you use me. Can’t believe it’s all bad. I’ll stop myself from getting sad. Holy water ghost not enough, but almost. In the dawn of day I felt myself fade away. It’s a full moon tonight. It’s gonna be alright 'cause it’s a full moon tonight. Pretty scars where my sunburn used to be. Honey lemon tea.

Honey Drips 03:16
Like dahlias dropped into the Fraser, honey drips down the back of your throat. I’m glad I cleaned the moon for you, I’m glad the tea is cold. Like the sun’s yolk cracked in the morning, honey light shines through. Window panes, I feel the same. I’ll take the long way home with you. I won’t get lonely on my Milky Way holiday, I’ll find a way back to you. I won’t get lonely on my Milky Way holiday, I’ll find a way that’s true. I won’t get lonely on my Milky Way holiday, I’ll find a way back to you. I won’t get lonely on my Milky Way holiday, I’ll find a way that’s true, I’ll find my way back to you.

Let's take our hearts and dip them in wine, I think about you all the time. I miss the days when you were mine, do you miss me yet? Do you miss me yet? I’m insecure, don’t know what for. I try to teach myself to be smaller. Do you feel taller? You don’t know me, I’m worth dreaming of. You don’t know me, and this is puppy love. You don’t know me, I’m worth dreaming of. You don’t know me, and this is skinny puppy love. I tried to kill my idols, but they wouldn’t die. Loveless pit, I know you’re full of shit and all you do is lie, all you do is lie. Put flowers and confetti on my grave. I won’t cry, suck my soul dry, I never did behave. I never did behave. You don’t know me, I’m worth dreaming of. You don’t know me, and this is puppy love. You don’t know me, I’m worth dreaming of. You don’t know me, and this is skinny puppy love. Feelin’ fine, wasting time, one foot out the door. You don’t know me, I’m worth dreaming of. You don’t know me, and this is puppy love. You don’t know me, I’m worth dreaming of. You don’t know me, and this is skinny puppy love.

Valley Girl 04:42
Bird nest rib cage, planted flowers at my wake. Baby we were born to lose, so why are you so blue? Soft petal of a girl, sugar blood, string of pearls. Lead paint baby carriage, teen love, first marriage. Baby we were born to lose, so why are you so blue? Soft petal of a girl, sugar blood, string of pearls. Oh my valley girl, looks for angels in the sky. Got lost in her world, as it passed her by. Sink in this valley with you, we’ll find something new, oh it’s true. Dolls, oh they bring you down to a different point of view oh it’s you. Oh my valley girl, looks for angels in the sky. Got lost in her world, as it passed her by. (Instant love, instant excitement, ultimate Hell, waiting for the rush.) My sweet valley girl, watch her shrink and die. Too soft for this world, oh my, my valley girl.
5.
Older 03:25
I used to think when I got older, that I’d be a little wiser, that I’d be a little kinder. Now and then when I lean on your shoulder, I feel a little warm inside, like maybe I don’t have to try so hard. I used to think when I got older, that there’d be no time to cry, plastered smiles just getting by. Now and then when I feel bolder, I peel back my skin enough to let the light in. I used to think when I got older, that everything would change, but I feel stuck, I feel the same. Now and then when I lean on your shoulder, I feel a little warm inside, like maybe I don’t have to try, maybe I don’t have to try so hard.

about

Two years after the release of their debut demo, Love Cave are back. And this time, they brought some friends. Now, the Canadian alt-rockers are ready to stake their claim as an essential Vancouver act with the release of their new 5-song EP.

Like its predecessor, With Feeling spans a wide array of styles, from dream pop to hard rock to pop-punk. Unlike the demo, however, With Feeling is predominated by straightforward songs which are as fun to play as they are to listen to. The group shifted their focus from writing complex harmonies to evoking strong emotions—some jubilant, like lead single “Honey Drips,” and some brooding, like grunge anthem “Skinny Puppy Love.” This time around, the band pulled no punches. For 20 minutes, the listener is taken on a journey replete with dizzying highs, harrowing lows, and heartfelt rumination. Pounding drums, lively guitars, and driving basslines meet elegant vocal melodies and defiant screams—colliding, at times, like bodies in a mosh pit.

Perhaps the biggest difference between 2020 Demo and With Feeling, though, is Love Cave’s newfound eagerness to collaborate. The duo have come to realize that being DIY is only an asset when you can make exactly what you want to make. To turn their vision into reality, Love Cave enlisted the help of longtime friend and rising talent Robin Skies to mix and master the release. The EP was preceded by their first-ever music video, produced in collaboration with multi-talented artist Lucas Inacio (Palm Haze, Fløver). Because of these strategic partnerships, the duo were able to release a work that not only met their highest expectations, but surpassed them. The end result is a candid glimpse into the thoughts, fears, dreams, and desires that make Love Cave the band they are today.
