Love Cave is a grungy dream pop duo based in Vancouver, Canada. Formed in early 2020, the band strives to create music that is novel yet nostalgic.

Before Love Cave made lovely, cavernous music, they dated. One of the things that drew them together was their mutual interest in music, with both members having a small collection of covers under their belts—a history which they capitalized on through a series of collaborations. Linden Poirier (bass, drums, composition) had previously focused on extreme metal genres, while Amber Poirier (vocals, guitars, lyrics) displayed interests more akin to the music presented today. However, despite their divergent musical backgrounds, the duo have been able to strike common ground and creative synergy when writing songs. In 2019, after spending four happy years together, the couple got married. Several months later, they began work on their debut demo with the intent to play live shows as husband and wife.

Through Amber's affinity for '90s alt-rock and Linden's extensive metal background, Love Cave have created a sound all their own. Their debut demo is an exploratory offering that outlines the versatility of the group, with all elements of recording, production and promotion remaining entirely DIY. As the name suggests, Love Cave writes music that is emotive and fun, but with a dark, recondite air that stems from diverse influences such as grunge, post-metal, blackgaze and lofi. For 12 minutes, the listener is transported to a dreamy soundscape that is familiar yet foreign, populated with esoteric melodies, pounding drums and ethereal wordplay. Its artwork features a triptych of photos taken by Amber, each representing one of the three tracks.
